About The Position

The Walkerton Clean Water Centre is looking for a Market Research Analyst to join their team. This role will assist with and conduct projects related to evaluating current customer needs and discovering new and emerging customer needs to facilitate and influence strategic and operational planning. The research provided by this position will assist with strategic growth planning to help the Centre expand geographically and vertically into new markets.

Requirements

  • A minimum Master’s degree in Psychology, Marketing Research, Sociology or a related field is required including advanced courses in qualitative methodology and quantitative analysis. Research based master’s preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Certificate in TCPS-2 CORE-2022 for research ethics is required.
  • A valid class G driver’s license (or equivalent) and access to own transportation is required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in research and planning, including analyzing raw data and writing papers and reports. This can include research practicums or co-op projects.
  • Proven ability to sustain a professional demeanor in all aspects of the role.
  • Good organizational skills to effectively prioritize duties and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative methodology including designing, leading, and reporting research projects in multiple market verticals.
  • Experience working in a highly independent position with the proven ability to take initiative.
  • Strong oral presentation skills are required.
  • Excellent English communication skills, written and spoken are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with software programs that aid with transcription and coding of interviews such as Atlas TI and MaxQDA, Excel plug-ins or stand-alone software for higher level statistical analysis and Voxco knowledge would be an asset.
  • Experience in the public sector or with community-based research projects and project management would be an asset.
  • Experience working with ethics research boards is also an asset.
  • Bilingualism in French would be an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Draft surveys in Voxco and templates for email messaging associated with survey distribution.
  • Manage distribution lists, clean and analyze survey data, and produce reports using survey data in Voxco.
  • Produce reports utilizing survey findings tailored to a non-technical audience, emphasizing insights and conclusions.
  • Develop and design Voice of Customer (VoC) projects, including the development of ethical frameworks.
  • Provide weekly/bi-weekly project status updates to management and CEO.
  • Search for and create contact lists for potential VoC participant recruitment.
  • Develop VoC recruitment email templates and recruit participants.
  • Promote VoC projects at conference trade show booths (as well as general WCWC services and supports).
  • Schedule VoC sessions with individual participants as well as setup focus groups.
  • Conduct/facilitate VoC sessions both in-person and virtually.
  • Transcribe and analyze transcripts in qualitative analysis software (e.g. MaxQDA, Atlas Ti).
  • Engage in and/or lead investigator triangulation.
  • Write reports on findings and recommendations.
  • Arrange travel accommodations for VoC sessions, including booking flights and hotels for members of the research team.
  • Review and stay up to date with management meeting minutes, new internal policies, and legislation that may impact WCWC’s strategic goals.
  • Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of the position manager.
