About The Position

The Market & Pricing Risk Analyst gathers information, conducts detailed analyses, fulfills reporting requirements, identifies trends, and provides recommendations to management to support business decisions. The role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of reporting and information provided. The analyst works with pricing data and risk reporting, serves as a point of contact for pricing analysis questions and reporting requests, and prepares analyses and presentations for stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Finance, Statistics, or a related field.
Advanced experience using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Ability to prioritize, take initiative, and resolve issues with a high sense of urgency.
Solid understanding of pricing analysis and formulation.

Nice To Haves

0–2 years of experience preferred.
Experience performing market analysis or analyzing financial or statistical data preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze pricing data from publications including OPIS, Platts, and NYMEX.
Maintain daily and monthly pricing analyses.
Serve as a subject matter expert and main point of contact for pricing analysis questions and reporting requests, and clearly communicate findings.
Prepare reports comparing Metroplex and/or Gulf's position with competitors.
Research and compile historical information for designated locations.
Analyze patterns and prepare reports on lifting volume.
Distribute lifting information to stakeholders and other areas as needed.
Provide accurate exposure, mark-to-market (MTM), and profitability reporting for assigned transactions or portfolios.
Provide backup for other Risk Team members' responsibilities.
Resolve contract discrepancies and inaccuracies by communicating with traders, customers, and brokers; escalate issues to senior team members as needed.
Independently prepare advanced ad hoc analyses, reports, and presentations on demand.
