About The Position

The position of Market President / Commercial Lender assists in maintaining this standard by managing full-service branches within their assigned region and providing loans for our business customers. The Market President is responsible for the management and delegation of branch operations and branch personnel, including performing supervisory duties, coordinating managerial staff coverage, and administrating the efficiency of operations, lending, customer service, and security departments. A Market President should also develop new deposit and loan business, provide superior customer relations, promote the sales and service culture of the bank, achieve branch and region sales goals, and participate in community affairs to increase bank visibility and enhance business opportunities. As a Commercial Lender, the Market President is also responsible for soliciting, negotiating, underwriting, and coordinating the closing of commercial loans with respect to lending regulations and bank policy. As part of our team, Commercial Lenders also prospect new customers, provide active engagement in their communities, and present loan packages to our loan team and committee. New Lenders will be expected to manage both current accounts as well as initiate new business by identifying potential business customers in need of bank financial support. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from a 4-year college or university; 5 years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a banking or lending background, specifically in a managerial position. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
  • Advanced experience, knowledge, and/or training in branch management, lending, loan processing, banking, accounting, financial analysis, credit analysis, and related areas.
  • Advanced knowledge of related state and federal lending and compliance regulations, and other bank lending policies and financial laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop marketing and business development skills with customers.
  • Intermediate knowledge of branch operation procedures, bank products, and services.
  • Advanced knowledge of human resources and labor laws and policies.
  • Current Georgia driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; demonstrated ability in organization and delegation skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including familiarity with computer operation, typing, word processors, spreadsheet programs, and specialty software programs.
  • Advanced math skills, including ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio, and percent; drafting and interpretation of bar graphs; and other non-listed basic mathematical skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedures and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan department or bank activities and meetings to discuss objectives, strategies, budgeting, and development of policies and procedures.
  • Supervise employees, including through developing performance standards and objectives, measuring results, taking corrective action, and rewarding employees as is appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain marketing objectives of the area serviced.
  • Provide financial advice and counsel on investments to potential and existing customers.
  • Identify and pursue potential sources of business.
  • Call on customers to develop new business and cross-sell services.
  • Engage in business development and community involvement activities to enhance public awareness of the bank and seek new business.
  • Manage client relationships.
  • Prepare loan documentation.
  • Manage loan portfolio and ensure credit quality of the portfolio.
  • Set pricing and terms for loan products sold.
  • Evaluate loan requests and customer financial condition.
  • Approve or decline credit requests within approved lending limits, submit requests to Loan Committee for approval.
  • Assist in collections efforts as needed.
  • Provide operational and managerial support to the lending team.
  • Ensure regional branches are in compliance with established federal, state, and bank policies and procedures.
  • Assure audit compliance and procedure quality control and initiate corrective actions for violation.
