About The Position
A Hotel Marketplace Attendant works in the hotel’s lobby café, grab‑and‑go market, or retail shop, combining food & beverage service with guest retail experiences. The role is guest‑focused, requiring both hospitality and retail skills.
Requirements
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
- POS system experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, guest‑focused environment.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Make coffee, espresso, and specialty drinks; assemble sandwiches, wraps, and other grab‑and‑go items; warm up ready‑to‑eat foods.
- Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system to process credit/debit transactions, handle cash, make change, and process gift cards or certificates.
- Keep the market stocked using First In, First Out (FIFO) methods; monitor expiration dates; ensure adequate merchandise supply.
- Greet guests warmly, answer menu and product questions, assist with purchases, and ensure high guest satisfaction.
- Keep the market and adjacent seating areas clean, organized, and guest‑ready.
- Demonstrate knowledge of products, styling, and pricing; wrap and pack orders for shipping when required.
