About The Position

The Market Manager is a strategic leader responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding client relationships, and increasing market share within their respective market. This role oversees the operations, performance, and overall management of the business. It requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of staffing, ideally in the transportation space, including DOT compliance, driver recruiting, and customer relationship management. The Market Manager will lead business development efforts, identifying opportunities, selling staffing solutions, and ensuring strong client partnerships with the ultimate goal of growing the business, retaining customers, and maximizing profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Work experience may be substituted for education.
  • Experience in account management, operations, logistics, trucking, transportation, customer service, relationship building, sales, and/or staffing.
  • General knowledge of applicable employment and transportation regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for the assigned region/market.
  • Develop and execute market strategies to drive revenue, manage fill rates, and ensure client retention.
  • Serve as the face of the company to clients, prospects, and drivers in the region.
  • Act as a go-to expert on the local market—tracking trends, competitive activity, and client demands.
  • Represent the company at local networking events, trade shows, and industry gatherings.
  • Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and service excellence.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to create a strong sales plan, targeting growth with both existing and prospective clients.
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across transportation, logistics, and supply chain sectors.
  • Responsible for reactivating inactive carrier/client relationships.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and proposals that demonstrate the value of staffing solutions.
  • Collaborate with the national sales team to align local execution with broader growth objectives with existing national accounts.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales targets, market revenue goals, and client acquisition KPIs.
  • Manage existing client accounts to ensure satisfaction, resolve issues, and uncover new opportunities.
  • Build strong, consultative relationships with decision-makers (e.g., transportation managers, operations, HR leaders).
  • Conduct regular client check-ins and business reviews to assess satisfaction and identify growth opportunities.
  • Partner with the Recruiting team to develop recruitment strategies to attract qualified CDL and non-CDL drivers.
  • Ensure drivers meet client requirements, as well as all safety and compliance standards (DOT, FMCSA, etc.).
  • Monitor retention efforts and implement strategies to reduce turnover.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including DOT standards.
  • Partner with safety and legal teams to proactively manage risk.
  • Monitor and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as fill rate, time-to-fill, turnover, and revenue/gross profit.
  • Monitor daily activity, fill ratios, and service levels to ensure operational alignment with sales commitments.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, forecast needs, and make informed decisions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Engage in positive collaboration and teamwork to ensure achievement of regional EBITDA targets.
