About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Market Executive for our West Coast Middle Market Technology Group. The Market Executive will be responsible for strategy, implementation, management, P&L, and execution in the Technology Banking segment. The Market Executive will have three to five direct reports and a team of 30+ indirect reports that have responsibility for managing teams that garner and serve our customers. In this role, you will be collaborating with Head of SI and Market Coverage, Tech Division Executive and Market Coverage Division Executives in developing annual business plans and directing the group in execution of these plans. You will manage commercial banking leaders/Tech Market Leads, who manage local relationship managers that work with clients and prospects on credit-based loan products. You will partner with other product partners including but not limited to the Corporate and Investment Bank, Treasury Management (“GPL”), FX, Interest Rate Risk, Wealth and Merchant Card to attract and retain customers with an appropriate credit risk and operational risk lens to grow revenue and profits. You will develop and expand Venture relationships in coordination w/Tech Banking Venture Coverage team. You will direct the business of originating credit related products, treasury management products, and investment banking/capital markets products. You will directly work with Portfolio Management team while still maintaining ownership of the risk and coordinate with the service teams to deliver exceptional customer service. You will exercise the usual authority of a manager in identifying and acquiring key talent, training, motivating and developing team members. This leader will be strategically positioned to help our team accomplish the following: Lead the team in client acquisition & retention, Drive revenue through a demonstrated strong market presence, Set & manage high, in-person calling standards, Lead the team in engaging clients and investors, Deliver content emphasizing Wells Fargo’s distinct competitive advantages, Trusted client relationship coverage at operational, C-Suite and BOD levels along with investors, Build strong partnerships across Wells Fargo businesses, Create a strong, positive team, Develop people, and Bring a high level of energy & fun to the business.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Commercial Banking Relationship Management or leadership experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience
  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition, state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply.
  • Meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards.
  • FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check.
  • Meeting ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

  • Underwriting experience involving advanced commercial and/or specialty group relationship portfolio credit
  • Demonstrated experience building partnerships and collaborating with other product businesses within Wells Fargo
  • Highly skilled at negotiating, underwriting, and structuring deals for venture-backed companies within the Technology industry
  • Strong track record growing a portfolio, while appropriately managing risk
  • Extensive relationships with technology companies, non-bank lenders, venture capital firms, and service providers
  • Basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
  • Obtaining FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses, or equivalent must be completed within 180-days of date of hire if not immediately available to transfer upon hire.
  • For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite may also be required.
