About The Position

Capital One, a Fortune 500 company, is seeking a Manager for its Community Impact and Investment (CI&I) team in the S. Central region. This role is part of a multiyear transformation to align business strategy with social impact, launch new community investment approaches, strategically utilize volunteer time and talent, and leverage data and analytics for consulting on financial inclusion. The CI&I team focuses on fueling strategic community investments, delivering insights to inform Capital One's products and services, and activating associates' capabilities. The S. Central team is responsible for understanding regional challenges and opportunities to ensure high-impact investments that advance socioeconomic mobility and enhance Capital One's reputation and business agenda.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in project management, process management, project delivery, or any combination of the three
  • At least 4 years of experience managing products or programs within community impact, public affairs, market engagement, or social impact

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of experience working in a for-profit company
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
  • At least 5 years of experience working with nonprofits or startups on large-scale social impact projects
  • At least 3 years of experience in budget management
  • Experience working in financial services, technology, government, nonprofit or other regulated industries
  • Proven ability to assess product or program effectiveness through data analysis and performance metrics
  • Experience expanding products or programs across diverse business sectors or geographical regions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a focus on clarity, persuasion, and data-driven storytelling

Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership to identify and engage key community leaders in creating new approaches to pressing community needs.
  • Serve as a critical point of contact for community leaders to help solve community needs.
  • Conduct research and market scans to identify, analyze, and vet potential partners across various community organizations, including social and nonprofit organizations, activists, influencers, small business leaders, policymakers, CDFIs, and other funding organizations or in-market financial services providers.
  • Create and manage critical relationships with community players to understand Capital One's community presence and support for community needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the enterprise to monitor and evaluate risks.
  • Create presentations and reports to share market insights with CI&I, Global Enterprise Affairs, and other business lines to inform market investments.
  • Partner with the market team, analytics program team, and other business lines to write proposals for new market investments.
  • Manage and evaluate relationships with the existing portfolio of S. Central region community partners and their associated grants.
  • Ensure alignment to the investment strategy and review grant applications.
  • Oversee and deliver reporting for the region to monitor Capital One's community presence, sentiment, and mobilization of resources (time, talent, dollars).
  • Communicate the story of Capital One's S. Central region investment strategy.
