About The Position

Dignity Health, a large health care system, is seeking a Market Director Education for its Central Coast Market. This role provides leadership and direction for nursing and clinical education across seven hospitals. The Market Director will ensure programs align with operational and strategic needs, maintain professional practice standards, and oversee evidence-based practice and nursing activities to support national and regional strategies. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader in education with a strong clinical nursing foundation, excellent communication, organization, and time management skills, and expertise in developing strategic learning plans. This position is committed to social justice, health equity, and innovative care delivery.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Nursing, MBA, MHA or related field required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of general nursing experience required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a leadership role having a significant business impact required.
  • Leadership experience within an Academic Medical Center required.
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA required.
  • Nursing specialty certification required within 12 months of start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate Of Nursing DNP/PHD preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, direction, and focus for nursing and clinical education throughout the Central Coast Market.
  • Ensures programs are closely coordinated and aligned with the operational and strategic needs of each individual facility's leadership.
  • Strives to maintain consistent levels of professional practice which meet or exceed standards of excellence.
  • Provides oversight of evidence based practice and the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of activities for nursing designed to support the National Nursing Strategy, regional initiatives and goals and objectives that increases the clinical, leadership, and management competency of clinical teams.
  • Travels regularly to visit Hospitals and leadership teams.
