About The Position

The Barista is responsible for providing friendly and efficient service to all customers. The role involves preparation of all food & beverage offerings and always maintaining a clean environment. The must have good customer service skills as they will interact with guests, helping them with their orders and ensuring a smooth payment process. Requirements

  • Good communication skills: able to speak English and interact with customers and co-workers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer proficiency to use the resort’s point of sale system.
  • Physically able of lifting equipment, trays with food, and move tables and chairs.
  • Physically able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Professionally deal with difficult situations/people.
  • Must work up to ten hours per day.
  • Must change pace as business demands.
  • Taking guest orders and serving guests.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, preferably in a food service establishment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and create beverages including coffee drinks.
  • Complete all opening and closing side work, as assigned.
  • Stock bus station, as assigned.
  • Monitor grab-n-go items and assist with restocking as needed.
  • Operation and use of turbo chef to heat food.
  • Maintain work areas clean and organized.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Report on all unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Communicate with manager before leaving shift.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Interact with people according to Pyramid Global Hospitality’s values, which are centered around putting associates first.
  • Instill a servant culture which is focused upon partnering and supporting all members of the team.
  • Meet service quality standards that affect guest satisfaction; respond to guest questions or problems in a timely, professional manner.
  • Meet the hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, attendance, and punctuality; report to work and return from breaks on time; give advance notice when absence is anticipated; require typical amount of supervision; accept work assignments without complaints.
  • Accept opportunities to learn new skills, improve performance or cross-train for other hotel positions; solve routine problems that occur on the job; ask questions when not sure how to complete something; learn new skills as quickly as most others in the same job.
  • Be alert to hazards and responsible in carrying out hotel’s safety, security, and emergency procedures; suggest ways to improve safety conditions that reduce or prevent accidents and injuries; participate on safety committee or other special projects for safety; actively seek and report potential security risks or hazardous conditions.
  • Stock according to company procedures; inspect to ensure stock is adequate at beginning of shift; know what items are not available to guests; re-stock the self-serve areas as food and beverage are consumed to prevent temporary shortages; replace and rotate stock in correct place as soon as possible; keep table condiments stocked during shift.
  • Follow recommended procedures for handling and storing food supplies in order to control food-borne illnesses and food spoilage; maintain sanitary personal hygiene, maintain local health department standards and receive passing score on inspections.
