About The Position

VINCI Construction Grands Projets Canada, a subsidiary of VINCI Construction Grands Projets, part of the VINCI Group, construction worldwide leader, specialized in the design and construction of major civil engineering and building works in Canada is hiring a Marine Works Construction Engineer What is the project? The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment program involves designing and building a new deep-water intake in Lake Ontario to improve the plant's cooling system. This will involve: A5 km-long tunnel, built by a pressurized TBM (10.15 m diameter slurry TBM); Two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore); An offshore modular intake structure, resting on the lake bed. The project is distinguished by its proximity to an active nuclear site, requiring rigorous standards of safety, planning and coordination. You will play a key role in planning, preparing, and supporting the execution of civil and marine construction activities, both subcontracted and/or self‑performed, within a nuclear‑regulated environment. Your work will ensure offshore and onshore operations are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with engineering and project requirements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Marine Engineering, or related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience as Construction Engineer in heavy civil works (precast and/or in‑situ), marine works (dredging, port construction or offshore operation involving floating equipment), or other large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural project environments.
  • A proactive, field‑oriented mindset with strong problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Fluent in English (required), French (considered an asset).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in nuclear‑regulated environments is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Help define construction methods, work sequences, and execution plans for civil and marine works activities.
  • Prepare construction documents: scopes of work, method statements, risk assessments, procedures, and plans.
  • Support the review and assessment of subcontractor proposals, technical submissions, and execution strategies.
  • Support budget development and construction planning including mobilization plans.
  • Coordinate daily with engineering, procurement, project controls, quality, and HSE teams.
  • Prepare progress reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • During execution phase (from 2027), act as a field engineer and/or subcontractor coordinator, supporting and monitoring daily site activities.
