HII Elevator Support Unit (ESU) teams provide expert maintenance and repairs on aircraft carriers in support of the ESU contract. The selected Welder candidate will support ESU, working closely with skilled trades teams, onboard ships, and at shore-based facilities. This role involves using various welding processes, mechanical techniques, and related duties to repair, remove, install, and upgrade industrial equipment, assisting with repairs, alterations, and installations. This is a full-time position located in Chesapeake, VA, requiring travel to local shipyards and military bases, with per diem, travel, and lodging expenses covered when assigned. Candidates must demonstrate welding ability through qualification testing within the first four weeks for continued employment.
