About The Position

This role involves leading advanced troubleshooting and repair of various vessel systems, including propulsion, diesel, gas, electrical, auxiliary, navigation, steering, and vessel control systems. The position also requires supporting testing activities, reviewing technical documentation, coordinating with multiple stakeholders to resolve issues, operating equipment, mentoring junior technicians, and supporting planning efforts. A key responsibility includes leading boat hauling and launch operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced troubleshooting and repair of propulsion, diesel, gas, electrical, auxiliary, navigation, steering, and vessel control systems.
  • Support or conduct dockside, underway, operational, and acceptance testing activities.
  • Review technical documentation, drawings, manuals, test procedures, and service records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with production, quality, engineering, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to resolve technical issues.
  • Operate assigned equipment such as forklifts, telehandlers, crane and travel lift when trained and authorized.
  • Mentor lower-level technicians and help verify workmanship, safety compliance, and task completion.
  • Support labour, material, and schedule planning by identifying risks, constraints, and corrective actions.
  • Lead boat hauling and launch opinions to include pressure washing, blocking for storage and mooring.
