Marine Service Support Technician
About The Position
Boater’s World Marine Centers is seeking a motivated, hands-on Marine Service Support Technician to play a critical operational role inside our Service Department at BWGP. This position serves as the operational backbone of the service team, working directly alongside Marine Technicians to support engine handling, rigging preparation, forklift operations, boat staging, and yard organization. A strong performance in this role leads to increased technician productivity, improved turnaround times, and faster boat processing. This is a high-impact opportunity within a growing dealership for individuals who enjoy working around boats, engines, heavy equipment, and a fast-paced marine environment.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past 4–5 years required
- Comfortable working outdoors in Texas conditions
- Ability to safely handle heavy components and equipment
- Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset
- Detail-oriented and safety-conscious
Nice To Haves
- Experience operating forklifts or similar heavy equipment preferred
- Previous experience in marine, automotive, mechanical, or industrial environments strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts and yard equipment to move boats and trailers throughout the dealership.
- Safely operate company vehicles to tow boats to and from waterways, customer’s homes, sublet facilities, etc.
- Assist with engine repowers, maintenance, and services
- Support rigging preparation and installation
- Stage boats for service, diagnostics, delivery, and customer pickup
- Prepare service bays to ensure technicians have the tools and setup needed to stay efficient
- Maintain yard organization, equipment readiness, and workflow efficiency
- Assist with boat detailing and final preparation when needed
- Support heavy-lift tasks and shop coordination during peak service periods
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
- Utilize Lightspeed Mobile when performing service-related tasks
