Milwaukee Valve, established in 1901, manufactures valves for various industries including Industrial, Commercial, Fire Protection, Marine, and dry bulk hauling. This specific position is for a 1st Shift Marine Inspector in Department 715 and is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to read J1 letters on the Standard Jaeger’s Test chart (or equivalent type test) for near vision. One or both eyes must meet this requirement.
  • Individuals must be able to distinguish between colors.
  • Eye exams are required on an annual basis.
  • Regularly required to stand.
  • Frequently required to walk and sit.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Work towards the ability to work independently in assigned areas
  • Work towards the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and government specifications
  • Work towards the ability to use measuring equipment pertinent to assigned areas
  • Work towards being able to use ERP system, MV Works, Microsoft Office and other office software as assigned
  • Assist in maintaining Level 1 Warehouse, as directed
  • Work towards knowledge of part numbers and general knowledge of product
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area in a prescribed manner
