About The Position

John W. Stone Oil Distributor, LLC is seeking a Marine/Facilities Maintenance Technician with an Electrical Focus for their Gretna, Louisiana facility. This full-time position involves a variety of maintenance tasks including electrical work, general maintenance on pumps, meters, and motors, carpentry, and repairs for marine vessels, barges, and shore-based facilities. The role requires independent problem-solving, adherence to safety protocols, and accurate record-keeping.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
Valid Driver's License.
Reliable Transportation to and from Work.
High School Diploma (or its equivalent).
Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Basic Computer Skills.
At least one year of experience as an electrician helper, a mechanic helper, a plumber helper, or similar work experience.
Acceptable Driving Record.
Ability to pass a drug screen (DOT test, and a non-DOT hair test).
Ability to pass a fit-for-duty physical examination.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix problems independently.
Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduits.
Thread wire or cable through ducts or conduits.
Measure materials and objects for installation and assembly.
Trace out short circuits and wiring.
Strip insulation from wire ends.
Install electrical components, equipment, and systems.
Inspect and repair electrical systems.
Construct controllers and panels.
Fabricate parts and components.
Disassemble and reassemble equipment and systems.
Dig trenches and drill holes.
Solder, including silver soldering and cad welding.
Operate and use a variety of tools, equipment, and machines.
Clean, track, and maintain various kinds of equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and facilities.
Complete and submit paperwork, including requisitions and daily reports, in a timely manner.
Update job logs via preventative maintenance program on an ongoing basis.
Troubleshoot problems.
Use a computer (basic computer skills).
Exercise and use electrical knowledge.
Perform other duties as requested by Director, Supervisor or Executive Management.
