About The Position

We are seeking highly motivated, experienced and qualified Marine Engine Mechanics, preferably with marine engine and/or thruster experience to fill a position at our Fleet Maintenance facility in Richmond. This position will support the refit and capital project requirements for our fleet of vessels and will be performing the following: services, repairs and refits of vessel engines, systems, and equipment including engine components, compressors, and pumps, relief and safety valves, cylinder heads, cooler cores, clutches and engine blocks; measures and inspects bearings, cylinders, pistons, and turbochargers; repairs and tests of fuel injection systems, including pumps and injectors; operates large and small mobile cranes, forklifts and winches. Provides a ‘lead hand’ role for new employees and helpers; and performs additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of Work Safe BC regulations and safe working practices
  • Working knowledge of relevant materials, tools and equipment
  • Relevant BC or Interprovincial Trade Qualification in one or more of the following trades: Heavy Duty Mechanic, or Millwright
