About The Position

Responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of vessels/crafts and industrial plant equipment cognizant to A-06 Port Operations and all related electrical repairs and overhauling works. This includes removal and installation, overhaul, repairs, and diagnosing problems of various electrical systems and equipment onboard floating assets. The role also involves overhauling and repairing Navigational Aids Systems, Fire and Flooding Alarm Systems, welding machines, and other industrial equipment. A key responsibility is performing scheduled preventive maintenance (PMS) in compliance with the US Navy 3M System and supporting maintenance for the Syncrolift Shiplift & Transfer System. The position requires maintaining awareness of safety requirements and good housekeeping practices.

Requirements

  • High School graduate coupled with vocational course related to Industrial or Shipboard Electrical Technology.
  • Minimum of three (3) year experience as Marine Electrician in Naval Ship Repair Facility or commercial shipyards.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in engineering or formal schooling/apprenticeship course in Industrial or Shipboard Electrical Technology.
  • Certified PQS 301 (Maintenance Personnel), Personnel Qualification Standard for Ship Maintenance and Material Management (3M) System.

Responsibilities

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of vessels/crafts and industrial plant equipment.
  • Electrical repairs and overhauling works.
  • Removal and installation, overhaul, repairs, and diagnosing problems of electrical systems (AC/DC generators, motors, power distribution, transformers, controls, communication equipment, lighting, switches, relays, circuit breakers, batteries, charging systems, wiring, etc.).
  • Overhaul and repair of Navigational Aids System on buoys and Land Markers.
  • Overhaul and repair of Fire and Flooding Alarm Systems of fuel barges.
  • Repairs of welding machines, starter motors, alternators, pressure washers, portable air compressors, electrical pumps/hand tools, and various Industrial Plant Equipment (IPE).
  • Performance of assigned scheduled (PMS) maintenance requirements on boats, crafts, and IPEs, compliant with US Navy 3M System.
  • Support to maintenance and repairs of Syncrolift Shiplift & Transfer System.
  • Maintain awareness to safety requirements and keep all work areas clean and in good housekeeping.
  • Performs other duties as required to support contract requirements.
