About The Position

The Marine Electrician Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on marine vessels and facilities. This position provides direct supervision to marine electricians and ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards, marine regulations, and project schedules.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in marine electrical operations.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of overall marine electrical experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of marine electrical systems, schematics, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Experience with vessel new construction, repair, retrofit, and maintenance projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Working knowledge of applicable marine regulations, including ABS, USCG, and OSHA requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain required security clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of marine electricians and electrical subcontractors.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor work to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Inspect electrical installations, repairs, and modifications on marine vessels and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical systems, including power distribution, navigation, lighting, communication, propulsion, and control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and marine industry standards.
  • Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard assessments.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate electrical personnel to improve performance and maintain high workmanship standards.
  • Review blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to determine labor and material requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers, shipyard personnel, customers, and other trades to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor hours, materials, inspections, and project progress.
  • Participate in workforce planning, hiring recommendations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and accountability of tools, equipment, and company assets.
