About The Position

The Opportunity: You will lead a group of 2-10 engineers, designers, and analysts who provide our NAVSEA/NSWC/MSC/USCG/FMS Technical and Program Office clients with superb electrical engineering support in developing the next Navy ships and providing engineering support to existing vessels. You will perform as a key engineering lead directly supporting our key client’ vessels including aircraft carriers, combatants, amphibious, auxiliary, and specialized mission ships from program initiation through concept, design, construction, life cycle, and fleet support. Your ancillary duties will require management of accurate engineering resources, staffing plans, and alignment with existing program needs for stable revenue and future growth forecasts. As a technical electrical group lead, you will ensure engineering and Quality Assurance standards are met for the electrical engineering team(s). You will stay current in modern ship design requirements and analysis technologies. You will be a self-starter, perform as a team player cross multiple engineering management teams, and support technical proposal development as needed. The Primary Focus for this role is currently the CACI electrical lead for all electrical power, controls, and electronic systems engineering support to in-service design, but will require development and growth in phases of the ship design spiral. Candidate will have an explicit background in design of marine power systems including LV AC, HV AC and MVDC power distribution systems, control power systems, automation systems, electronic, and C5I systems. Candidate will be familiar with automation methodology including analog, serial, and networked/distributed systems, and is well versed in integrated control systems as pertaining to regulatory notations such as ACCU, NIBS, and IBS. Candidate will be well-versed in electrical and electronics design resources and will improve team efficiency and functionality in concept and detailed design deliverables by staying current in modern electrical design and drawing trends.

Requirements

B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related degree
U.S. Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance
Five or more years of experience in US Naval Ship Engineering, either within the NAVSEA/PEO Governmental Organizations, Shipyard Construction and Repair, Ship Operations (as a USCG Certified Officer or US Naval Officer), NAVSEA contractor support, or Similar.
Five years of experience performing as a key leader of an engineering team or in support of projects comprised of least 10 FTEs and across multiple HM&E disciplines
Experience briefing complex technical issues (including performance, cost, schedule and risk implications) to decision makers
Strong analytical skills

Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related degree
Lead engineer for Former NAVSEA Ship Design Manager

PE in Electrical Engineering

Responsibilities

Ensures that NAVSEA/NSWC/MSC/USCG/FMS Clients, Technical Warrant Holders and Ship Design Managers receive accurate technical advice in a timely fashion
Meets with key NAVSEA, NSWC, MSC, and PEO customers to determine future engineering and technical needs in the marketplace
Coordinates with Electrical Engineering Schools to develop recruiting pipelines and knowledge transfer opportunities.
Provides the workforce with the correct suite of engineering and analytical tools to perform electrical engineering design and analysis.
Develops and improves design processes for electrical modification and installation packages to improve quality and timeliness of customer deliverables.
Fosters a strong mentorship culture so that young employees receive training and oversight as they mature into fully capable engineers
Develops Subject Matter Experts who take ownership of key electrical and electronic systems.
Ability to support specific areas in proposals and targeted growth areas, with willingness to learn larger Proposal support efforts.
Self-Starter, multi-task capability, technically savvy, interpersonal skills, team player and ability to market our CACI team capabilities.
Client interface with acquisition and multiple technical program PMs, PAPMs, SDMs, TWHs, SEMs, DIMs are required to provide technical solutions and recommendations and ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Ability to enter and gain a foothold in new markets such as Amphibs, Combatants, Carriers, FMS Programs, USCG Programs, Unmanned Maritime Systems (UMSs) and/or Unmanned Maritime Vehicles (UMVs) other markets in 05Z/05P/05S, etc.
Explicit Knowledge of ABS MVR/ABS NVR, NAVY SPECs (e.g., GSO/NCDS/NSTM,TPUBs, Mil-Std) and Commercial Specs (IEEE) and standards is a must.
