We are seeking a Marine Electrical Subject Matter Expert for the Surface Enhance Capability Program (SECAP) who assist ship's force personnel with conducting maintenance onboard U.S. Naval Vessels. This marine electrician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairs on HM&E systems, specifically electrical equipment for installed systems: Main Drainage, Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF), Counter Measure Washdown (CMWD), and Fire-main systems. Along with conducting maintenance of Auxiliaries equipment to include: HP and LP Air systems, Trash room equipment, Hydraulic equipment, AC&R equipment, and Deck equipment. This is a full-time, hourly position located in San Diego, CA.

Requirements

  • High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 8 years of related experience, to include specific systems expertise.
  • Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
  • Must have experience as a shipboard marine electrician.
  • Must be able to read and interpret shipboard drawing and schematics.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a confidential DOD security clearence.
  • Start date contingent upon approval of base access, which is required for this position and continued employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Recent marine electrical experience onboard US Navy Ships.
  • Experience from EM, ET, IC ratings.
  • Prefer technical/professional certifications.
  • A current, active DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Considered subject matter expert in technical specialty. May work directly with customer or customer representatives, attend meetings and deploy for special projects.
  • Ability to manage, oversee, schedule and assign tasks to one or more multiple jobs. Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment.
  • Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
  • Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time.
  • Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. Maintains effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
