About The Position

The City of Berkeley is now accepting applications for the Temporary Marina Assistant position! In this role, you will patrol the Berkeley Marina and adjacent dock and ground areas for the prevention of theft, vandalism, and hazardous conditions. You will also perform boat towing and rescue operations, provide customer service, and perform office clerical and custodial duties. This position is not to exceed 1 year.

Requirements

• Equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) years of experience in marina operations equivalent to the Marina Assistant Trainee level.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
• Willing to work evening, night and weekend shifts.
• Willing to work out of doors in all weather conditions.
• Possess sufficient strength and stamina to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Upon completion of probationary period, must obtain a valid certificate in cardio pulmonary resuscitation.

Nice To Haves

• Possession of a Coast Guard Auxiliary or Power Squadron certificate.
• Possession of a lifesaving certificate.
• Small boat handling experience.
