About The Position

Working as a Full-time Manufacturing Tool Room-Carbide Die Finisher/Tool Crib Machinist, you will be responsible for making, altering and repairing a wide range of carbide dies and integrated parts generally for use on heading machines.

Requirements

18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work
Prior experience working with machinery and tooling
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrate an excellent safety record
Read and interpret written instructions
Demonstrate basic math skills including decimals and fractions
Desire to continuously improve manufacturing processes
Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
Work independently as well as in a team environment
Demonstrate strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and quality

Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs

Responsibilities

Planning and performing a variety of roughing out, boring, facing, turning, lapping, finishing and grinding operations to make, alter and repair a wide range of carbide dies and integrated parts generally for use on heading machines
Fabricating special tools for the Research and Development department occasionally
Setting up and operating bench lathe for precise and difficult machining using diamond, diamond dust and paste or other abrasive materials
Selecting, installing and adjusting tool compounds and tail stock and making necessary brass arbors and laps
Checking work with fixed and adjustable measuring instruments to maintain very close tolerances and making necessary adjustments to ensure conformance with specifications
Instructing and/or assisting employees and other operators as needed
