About The Position

Base is hiring a Manufacturing Test Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience with test systems used to check batteries before shipment. The intern will work alongside experienced test engineers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, supporting testers from first build through production. The work directly supports Base’s effort to deliver affordable energy at scale. The role is part of the Manufacturing Engineering team, which connects proof-of-concept products to scalable, profitable manufacturing. The team develops manufacturing processes, technology, and equipment; works with product design to ensure designs can be manufactured at cost and scale; and brings the physical mechanisms of manufacturing into the factory. As a startup, Base’s priorities can shift quickly, and the role and responsibilities may change with business needs. Base works in person and describes its environment as not a 9-to-5, with employees all-in on its mission. The company values first-principles thinking, speed and learning by doing, direct and humble feedback, ownership, clarity amid uncertainty, commitment to its mission, and combining collaboration and optimism with grit.
