About The Position

ASML is a leading manufacturer of lithography systems, crucial for producing advanced electronic devices. The San Diego-based light source division, Cymer, specializes in deep ultraviolet (DUV) and extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography light sources. This role involves assembling, testing, calibrating, and qualifying intricate EUV light source systems, which include complex networks of process gases, high-power lasers, optics, electronics, mechatronics, and control systems. As a system expert, you will play a key role in improving the product through hands-on system building, testing, qualification, issue identification, resolution, and identifying potential improvements. This position requires access to controlled technology as defined by the Export Administration Regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Physics.
  • 1 year of EUV Source Operational experience strongly preferred.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience. Exceptional recent college graduates considered.
  • Strong engineering, technical, and physics fundamentals.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-motivated, inquisitive, and resourceful.
  • Ability to make decisions based on benefit, risk, time constraints, and opportunity.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize, while staying organized and detailed oriented.
  • Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.
  • Can observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work.
  • Can learn and apply new information or skills.
  • Must be capable of working in the lab at floor level to 8 feet high with appropriate ladder.
  • May require use of respirator apparatus.
  • Work is performed in a cleanroom with full gown, hood, gloves, boots, and eye protection.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access controlled technology prior to beginning work.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, perform tests, calibrate and qualify EUV systems and their components.
  • Execute system build activities including hardware installation, mechanical alignment support, and assembly verification.
  • Use advanced HW and SW to operate, diagnose, and characterize functionality and performance.
  • Document build completion, test execution failures observed, troubleshooting steps, and corrective actions to ensure manufacturing and quality requirements.
  • Take ownership of assigned systems, identify execution risks or deviations, escalate technical issues when needed, and drive timely resolution to maintain production flow.
  • Work with stakeholders from different departments and build a strong communication network.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
