About The Position

Anduril’s Manufacturing team is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to join its Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) team. The EW Manufacturing Team builds and rapidly iterates cutting-edge defense hardware, supporting the manufacturing value chain through design for manufacturability, tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing and interaction, quality planning, and work documentation. The Manufacturing Test Engineer owns production test activities and helps ensure systems meet stringent standards, products ship at high quality, and production meets throughput requirements. The role involves developing creative solutions to difficult testing problems and continuously improving test automation, throughput, user interfaces, and data analytics. The engineer also supports product sustainment, early-stage test design, failure analysis, and improvements to testing processes and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience, with emphasis on manufacturing test and product sustainment.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Ubuntu, LabVIEW, and NixOS.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers to test PCBAs or electronic assemblies.
  • Thorough knowledge of PCBA testing standards and methods.
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment, including power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition equipment, and measurement sensors.
  • Strong root cause analysis skills for non-conforming hardware.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Test Execution Systems (TES).
  • Experience on projects involving integration of electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Pursuing a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Python, LabVIEW, and/or MATLAB for data parsing and data visualization.
  • Experience with test automation, PCBA design, and mechanical design.
  • Experience with computer hardware communication protocols such as USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, and CAN.
  • Experience with ESS-related testing, including thermal and vibration testing.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Own production test activities and ensure production test flow.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and resolve complex electrical issues found during testing.
  • Maintain test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkouts and acceptance testing to component-level in-process validation.
  • Improve and sustain test systems to increase automation, consistency, test coverage, and efficiency while reducing cycle time.
  • Generate test work instructions for technicians in MES.
  • Train technicians on equipment use as needed.
  • Develop a library of common failure modes and troubleshooting guides or diagrams.
  • Determine root causes of product failures and recommend corrective actions (RCCA).
  • Work with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams on customer returns and failure analysis.
  • Provide feedback on early-stage test design and processes for new products (NPI).
  • Analyze test data, document results, and prepare detailed reports identifying defects and improvement areas.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to recommend product enhancements based on test outcomes.
  • Optimize test strategies without compromising quality.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing processes and methodologies.
  • Execute testing as required.

Benefits
