About The Position

First escalation point of contact for testing and programming operations: Leak Test, Final Run Test, Motor Programming, and Controller Programming. Communicate efficiently with end of line test associates to provide them with quick support to guarantee daily production targets. Support proper operation and maintenance of testing and programming equipment on all assembly and support lines. Assure accessories used for testing operation are available for immediate replacement if necessary: Thermocouples, control cables, power plugs, etc. Troubleshoot failures of heat pumps and test equipment to locate root cause and provide resolution. Report issues and findings using the FPY report. Drive improvements using basic problem-solving techniques. Train or assist in training operators of run off stations to ensure tests are being properly performed, help to identify and resolve improvement opportunities and gaps with training. Validate troubleshooting information shown by Testbuilder software after any failure occurs is accurate and update work instructions and sequence cards as needed. Create and update work instructions to reflect current procedures in testing and validate improvement ideas with the test engineer. Recognize deficiencies in the test process and find options for improvement together with test engineer. Understand scripting and Boolean logic. Understand and create complex testing algorithms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or, in lieu of a degree, High School diploma or GED with 7+ years of manufacturing, test technician, or equipment maintenance troubleshooting experience.
  • 0 - 2+ years of manufacturing and/or engineering experience.
  • 0 - 2+ years of experience working in a team environment.
  • Ability to use piping schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and work instructions to ensure 100% unit compliance with quality standards and engineering design.
  • Effective problem-solving skills using proven problem-solving methods.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability of necessary accessories for testing operations, such as thermocouples, control cables, and power plugs.
  • Troubleshoot failures in heat pumps and test equipment to identify root causes and implement resolutions.
  • Report issues and findings using the FPY report.
  • Drive improvements using basic problem-solving techniques.
  • Train or assist in training operators on run-off stations to ensure proper test execution and identify/resolve improvement opportunities and training gaps.
  • Validate the accuracy of troubleshooting information provided by Testbuilder software and update work instructions and sequence cards as needed.
  • Create and update work instructions to reflect current testing procedures and validate improvement ideas with the test engineer.
