Jabil is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Test Engineer to work in our Auburn Hills, MI plant. How will you make an impact? As a Manufacturing Test Engineer with Jabil, you will develop and maintain high complexity board-level, sub-assembly and final assembly production test processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or similar engineering discipline OR equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a Test environment in Manufacturing.
  • Basic electrical engineering skills including schematic review, circuit theory and circuit design
  • Experience with electronic equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators/analyzers
  • Experience working with customers, both internal and external.
  • Experience with preparing and giving presentations.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Experience is preferred.
  • Strong Communication Skills both verbal and written.
  • Experience with C, Visual Basic, and LabVIEW are strongly preferred.
  • design/analysis software such as AutoCAD, Valor, Fabmaster, OrCAD
  • Data collection systems and reporting (SQL) is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supports product realization by defining test plans, determining appropriate test platforms, quoting, performing Design for Test (DFT) analysis, and reviewing capacity constraints
  • Reviews and analyzes key metrics and carries out corrective actions in response to first pass yield problems, WIP status, and tester downtime
  • Coordinates with customers, suppliers and engineering staff to resolve quality issues
  • Performs root cause analysis, creates project plans and timelines, implements changes and verifies the effectiveness of those changes
  • Identifies opportunities to prevent product quality problems and to continuously improve quality, yields and efficiencies and implement changes, including the use of Lean/Six Sigma tools to support continuous improvement projects
  • Creates and maintains documentation required to support the operation and maintenance of test processes
  • Generates test specifications, electrical/mechanical drawings, and qualifications
  • Interfaces with customer as a technical liaison, conferring on test equipment design, product testability, test data, and open issues
  • Perform duties, which involve conventional engineering practices that may include a variety of complex duties from in-circuit testing (ICT), functional verification testing (FVT), Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and system level testing
  • Works safely at all times and complies with Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices along with all other work rules
