About The Position

The Manufacturing & Test Engineer communicates effectively with management and cross-functional stakeholders daily/weekly with status updates, resource needs, risks, and challenges to ensure progress across projects, production support, and continuous improvement activities. This role involves building, testing, and evaluating mechanical and electro-mechanical subassemblies, fixtures, and systems to meet performance, cost, quality, and schedule requirements. The engineer will monitor and improve the efficiency and productivity of production lines and work cells using OpEx/LEAN methods, maintain accurate technical documentation, and troubleshoot and maintain production fixtures and test stations, including mechanical interfaces, sensors, actuators, pneumatics, and basic electrical I/O. The position supports production and assembly lines by troubleshooting process and equipment issues, analyzing data related to product performance, yield, scrap, and process capability, and implementing countermeasures while maintaining EHS compliance. Key responsibilities also include developing qualification/validation procedures, reviewing new designs for manufacturability, resolving product nonconformance issues through CAPA and Engineering Change processes, and leading local quality metrics. The role is also involved in new product launch management, designing/building prototypes for NPD, documenting work instructions, simplifying work cells with ergonomic assembly aids and end-of-line verification fixtures, performing preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment, and designing/redesigning operator-station fixtures with error-proofing and safety features.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in manufacturing engineering and/or mechanical/electro-mechanical assembly, fixturing, and validation/testing environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel) and manufacturing database software.
  • Required to have excellent English language skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Build, test, and evaluate mechanical and electro-mechanical subassemblies, fixtures, and systems to meet performance, cost, quality, and schedule requirements as defined by management and company goals.
  • Monitor and improve the efficiency and productivity of production lines and work cells using OpEx/LEAN methods. Maintain accurate technical documentation (work instructions, process sheets, inspection/test records) needed to support safe and repeatable production.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain production fixtures and test stations, including mechanical interfaces, sensors, actuators, pneumatics, and basic electrical I/O as needed. Configure and maintain computers and networked equipment used to run automated test/verification software and collect results.
  • Support production and assembly lines by troubleshooting process and equipment issues, including scrap/nonconformance analysis. Analyze data and statistics related to product performance, yield, scrap, and process capability; define and perform verification tests on products/subassemblies/fixtures; and implement countermeasures to resolve issues while maintaining EHS compliance and safe work practices.
  • Develop qualification/validation procedures and perform testing on fixtures, tooling, mechanical assemblies, and measurement systems for precision manufacturing applications. Review new designs for manufacturability and serviceability; define the manufacturing operational sequence; and determine routings for each step in the process.
  • Resolve product nonconformance issues; implement product, fixture, and process improvement/cost reduction initiatives through CAPA and Engineering Change processes, leveraging OpEx/LEAN problem-solving tools.
  • Main contact for quality and production topics. Lead local quality metrics and nonconforming material processes; analyze and correct issues related to mechanical fit/function, assembly, inspection, and end-of-line verification; and support implementation and maintenance of the QMS while promoting safe, compliant practices.
  • New product launch management and liaison with engineering/ manufacturing/ purchasing and sales.
  • Design/ Build prototypes for NPD to ensure manufacturable design.
  • Document work instructions, process sheets, tooling/fixture set-up instructions, and (as applicable) station programs/settings for all product lines supported.
  • Simplify work cells with mechanical fixturing, ergonomic assembly aids, and end-of-line verification fixtures (electro-mechanical), ensuring repeatability, safety, and ease of use across product lines.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of fixtures, gages, and test equipment; maintain calibration status, records, and traceability as required.
  • Design/redesign operator-station fixtures and verification methods (e.g., mechanical checks, gaging, torque/force verification, leak testing, sensor checks) that confirm parts are acceptable before moving to the next operation, enabling rework/repair and reducing escapes. Incorporate error-proofing (poka-yoke) and appropriate safety features (guards/interlocks) where applicable.
  • Document updates – Travelers, Work Instructions, Process Sheets, etc. Validation of the documents to confirm all operators are following them correctly for the products.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
