About The Position

In this role, you will be a key member of a high-performing team of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineers, driving operational excellence from concept through production! Employing your experience in tooling and fixture design, CNC machining and programming, precision fabrication, inspection, and integration, you will assess design feasibility and provide actionable input on design, manufacturability, and assembly readiness. You will collaborate multi-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, procurement, and suppliers to optimize designs for GD&T, material selection, manufacturing processes, fixturing, inspection, handling, and assembly flow. You will also lead feasibility studies, support vendor selection and qualification, and partner with internal teams to implement supplier and production improvements.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of demonstrated ability in manufacturing/design engineering, including fixturing, metallurgy, heat treatment, and finishing
  • Hands-on CNC machining experience, including CNC programming and process optimization
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (CSWP preferred)
  • Proficient in drafting standards and GD&T interpretation/application
  • Experience with fabrication, inspection methods, and assembly integration in a production environment
  • Must be able to work out of the Duluth, GA office and come into the office 3 days a week
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Must be able to obtain a United States Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing high-dynamic antenna positioners/tracking systems
  • Manufacturing experience with microwave components
  • Design/manufacturing experience in welding, EDM, brazing, and sheet metal
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Design and drawing review with emphasis on manufacturability and assembly efficiency
  • Lead manufacturability and Design for Assembly (DFA) studies
  • Develop and optimize tooling, fixtures, and work-holding for production
  • Program and support CNC machining operations (process development, setup strategy, cycle optimization)
  • Serve as vendor interface to resolve inefficiencies, quality non-conformance, and delivery risks
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Support process validation, first-article inspections, and production integration
  • Coordinate with procurement to identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers
  • Partner with engineering to implement vendor recommendations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Chip in to antenna and related electromechanical hardware development for manufacturability and assembly
