About The Position

As a Manufacturing Technology Engineer, you will be developing tooling, equipment, and layouts to support manufacturing processes and the production system. This role will plan movement simulations and digital twins of the production environment to drive efficient, rapid, on-time production and start-up of the new production capacity internally and with Contract Manufacturers for aircraft production. The right person for this role has designed tooling for all types of injection molding and metal-formed and drawn parts. This role will enable production systems and manufacturing models of the work environment for a variety of product lines, groups, or businesses, and will be integrated with both internal and external customers. If you are someone who wants to develop innovative, adaptive, flexible, creative approaches to manufacturing production systems and develop unified solutions for lots of stakeholders, then this role is for you.

  • 10+ years of experience as a designer and developer of tooling, equipment, and processes for manufacturing technology development, for molded parts of all types, stamped metal, and formed sheet metal.
  • Manufacturing Engineering Degree or 10 years of verifiable relevant work experience in plastic mold development, processing, and commissioning.
  • Experience in metal die development and commissioning complex sheet metal parts to production run rates.
  • Technology development and implementation experience in equipment and tooling for large-scale manufacturing.
  • Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment, next to operations and manufacturing engineering, to understand and optimize the production system.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and fabricate mechanisms based on DFM processes to meet PFMEA and DFMEA identified part risks and performance demands.
  • Provide risk assessment for parts that require PPAP and have been identified as Safety of Flight critical to function parts or assemblies.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
