About The Position

Leidos is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technologist to join their Hypersonics team supporting the Common Hypersonic Glide Body (CHGB) program. This role involves supporting the build and assembly of tactical electronic/electrical assemblies, special test equipment, and troubleshooting electrical subsystems of complex defense and space systems. The position requires working with a diverse team on tasks including requirements capture, design, procurement, build, configuration, and validation of electrical and mechanical assemblies for a hardware in the loop (HWIL) system. The work will be conducted in a laboratory environment.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, aerospace, electrical or computer engineering from an ABET accredited school OR an additional 4+ years of relevant experience with a High School diploma or GED.
At least 4+ years of relevant experience.
Familiarity with working with electrical schematics and cable/wiring diagrams.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a dedicated workforce.
Ability to provide rapid integration and troubleshooting support for HWIL system-level integration.
Ability to assume responsibility for testing a variety of electronic/electrical hardware, including electrical and mechanical assemblies.
Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment (design, test, and manufacturing engineers).
Ability to lift 35 pounds.
Possess current J-STD and IPC/WHMA-A-620 certifications.
Willingness to participate in integration activities held at industry partner locations (estimated 10% travel).
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and hold a SECRET clearance.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the manufacturing and testing of large electronic/electrical components for military and aerospace applications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems operation and configuration.
Advanced experience reading mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation.
Skills associated with electrical and mechanical assembly tasks, including proficiency in using corporate production control processes, and in creating documents and spreadsheets for manufacturing information, such as work instructions, parts lists, inventory reports, etc.

Responsibilities

Assist with research, evaluation, design, and quality control processes.
Support the build and assembly of tactical electronic/electrical assemblies (including cables) and special test equipment.
Utilize common support equipment and tools needed for troubleshooting electrical subsystems of complex defense and space systems.
Work with a diverse team on tasks including requirements capture, design, procurement, build, configuration, and validation of electrical and mechanical assemblies for a hardware in the loop (HWIL) system.
Manage reviews, documentation release processes, testing, and troubleshooting for HWIL system assemblies.
Conduct work in a laboratory environment.
Read engineering drawings and follow work instructions to produce complex assemblies and provide feedback to engineering.
Work with electrical schematics and cable/wiring diagrams.
Provide rapid integration and troubleshooting support for HWIL system-level integration.
Assume responsibility for testing a variety of electronic/electrical hardware, including electrical and mechanical assemblies.
Effectively communicate within a team environment, including design, test, and manufacturing engineers.
Participate in integration activities held at industry partner locations.
Lift 35 pounds.
