The Manufacturing Technician performs functions associated with manufacturing operations, including working with engineers on setup and calibration, rework, and quality testing for parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. The role uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data and make online adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. The technician determines and may help develop methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing processes and works with engineers on experiments. This is a developing support individual-contributor role performed under general supervision. Work follows established processes within identified boundaries and procedures, with less detailed instructions and moderate peer review. The technician identifies straightforward problems and issues, escalating them to a supervisor when needed. The role communicates with departmental contacts to obtain or provide information that may require explanation or interpretation, and contributes to operational targets within the job area and team.
