About The Position

Executes advanced manufacturing operations and serves as a knowledgeable resource within the team. Demonstrates strong technical expertise, leadership behaviors, and effective communication while supporting training, troubleshooting, and process improvements. Ensures compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, and plays an active role in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with Thermo Fisher’s 4i Values (Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement).

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Execute advanced manufacturing operations with a high level of technical proficiency
  • Operate the polypropylene carding line in accordance with SOPs, standard work, and MLC parameters
  • Monitor continuous material flow and process conditions to ensure stable production
  • Make real-time adjustments to process parameters including heat settings, fiber thickness, and line speed
  • Ensure finished product meets specifications for airflow, basis weight, and dimensional requirements
  • Exercise authority to stop production when safety, quality, or equipment performance is at risk
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections including airflow, basis weight, and dimensional checks
  • Interpret test results and adjust process parameters to maintain compliance
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of production and quality data in QA systems
  • Maintain compliance with cGMP, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Review batch records, labeling, and documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform complex troubleshooting and support resolution of process or equipment issues
  • Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance activities
  • Report and escalate equipment malfunctions or abnormal conditions
  • Support product changeovers and ensure equipment readiness
  • Train and support team members on standard work, processes, and best practices
  • Assist in onboarding and development of new operators
  • Maintain required training qualifications and certifications
  • Serve as a technical resource for the team
  • Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Actively participate in and support Lean/PPI initiatives and cross-functional collaboration
  • Support process improvements to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Adhere to all plant and departmental safety policies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready work area (5S)
  • Identify and report safety hazards, process risks, and quality concerns
  • Ensure proper handling of materials, including hazardous waste, in accordance with regulations
