About The Position

Suit-Kote Corporation is seeking candidates to join our Asphalt Emulsion team as a Manufacturing Technician to facilitate the production of various asphalt emulsion materials at our Cortland, NY facility. We are currently accepting applications for 1st and 2nd shift. Requirements

  • Strong work ethic and team orientation
  • Ability to perform basic calculations and formulas
  • Effective communication skills in a cross-functional organization
  • Ability to work in a periodically fast paced environment
  • Ability to work regular overtime and occasional weekend hours as needed.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work site (drivers license preferred)
  • Pass a pre-employment drug and personal background screening
  • Must have or be willing to obtain company sponsored OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate
  • Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds
  • Uncompromising commitment to safety and use of Personal Protective Equipment
  • Must be able to work in an industrial environment
  • Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

  • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a manufacturing technician to ensure the timely manufacture of asphalt emulsions used in various road construction processes.
  • Work with shift employees and other internal team members to schedule production and related tasks to meet operational schedules and quality targets.
  • Partners with quality assurance group to ensure product meets quality targets, collaborating in adjusting production as necessary.
  • Basic and preventive equipment maintenance (pumps, gauges, valves, etc.).
  • Truck loading/unloading and interaction with internal and third-party drivers.
  • Safe handling of chemicals and products manufactured at elevated temperatures.
  • Safe operation of forklifts and manlifts as necessary.
