We are currently seeing candidates for Full-time Manufacturing Technician 1 for our San Diego location. This position is for 1st Shift (5:00 am - 2:30 pm). The Manufacturing Technician 1 position performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations in layup and panel fabrication and assembly.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and 0 - 2 years' of composite lay up/ bonding experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working in a composites/manufacturing environment (space/satellite structures, aerospace manufacturing environment)
Demonstrated Mechanical Ability
Ability to work under limited supervision.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree or 2 year Technical degree and 3 years' minimum experience in a manufacturing environment.

Shows initiative, a self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence.
Able to read, write and work to written instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings in English.
Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic.
Ability to multitask, prioritize.
Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance issues.
Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

Handling and managing fragile composite materials.
Prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products.
Report status/progress and interface with other employees and departments.
Tooling preparation and release application.
Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware.
Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness.
Execute to written instructions.
