The Composite Technician 3rd Shift places resin pre-impregnated fabrics and tapes onto layup molds using hands, wrists, and arms to apply pressure and remove air pockets. This role requires knowledge of fabric direction and ply orientation. The technician handles preparing adhesive, core, and other layup materials, cuts vacuum bag materials, and creates vacuum bags. They prepare parts for transfer to the autoclave department and ensure layups and vacuum bags are prepared according to the requirements of manufacturing travelers. The ideal candidate learns quickly, works efficiently, minimizes errors, produces high-quality work, collaborates well with others, and is focused on task completion.
