About The Position

As a Manufacturing Technician (Troy) at GE Precision Healthcare LLC, you will be responsible for the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of complex medical devices and components. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products, contributing directly to patient care. Our Troy site manufactures premium digital X-ray detectors for GE HeatlhCare mammography, interventional and radiography diagnostic imaging systems worldwide. The engineering and manufacturing team designs and builds semiconductor components and assemblies to provide reliable digital imaging hardware that clinicians and patients depend on.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with medical devices or in a highly regulated industry.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity for intricate assembly tasks.
  • Experience with various hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and operating manufacturing software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Electronics, Mechanical Engineering Technology) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precise mechanical and electrical assembly of medical device components and sub-assemblies according to established procedures and blueprints.
  • Conduct functional testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of finished products using specialized equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Document all manufacturing and testing activities accurately and completely, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and GE Precision Healthcare's quality standards.
  • Identify and resolve production issues, collaborating with engineering and quality teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Operate and maintain production equipment, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing process enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including FDA regulations.
