About The Position

Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Manufacturing Technician for the night shift in the Logistics, Printing, Packaging, and Plate Forming Press departments at its Dixie facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The facility makes Dixie paper plates and bowls. The role offers a climate-controlled work environment and opportunities to learn new skills and advance.

Team members work an alternating 12-hour schedule: 36 hours one week, paid as 40 hours, followed by 48 hours the next week, including 8 hours of overtime pay. The night shift runs from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The rate is $23.11 per hour, plus a $2.00-per-hour night-shift differential.

Requirements

• Experience in at least one of the following areas: manufacturing, industrial, agricultural, construction, or military work; alternatively, training or education after high school in a manufacturing, technical, or skilled-trades program.
• At least six months of experience operating and/or maintaining machines or equipment.
• High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, or electrical skills in an industrial environment.
• Experience using a computer, tablet, or smart device.
• Experience using SAP.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment according to defined standards and product specification targets.
• Monitor and/or enter information into computer control systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment to optimize production.
• Perform basic asset care, including routine preventive maintenance and cleaning the work area.
• Work as part of a team to help meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals.
• Operate and/or work around mobile equipment.
• Follow safety rules and regulations, including wearing required safety equipment.
• Perform work involving changeovers and equipment setup.
