About The Position

We are hiring a Manufacturing Technician – Welding, Fabrication & Mechanical Assembly to support precision manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and testing of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and avionics components. This role requires experience with welding, sheet metal fabrication, blueprint reading, precision measurements, mechanical assembly, soldering, and manufacturing processes in an aerospace or industrial production environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically 1 or more years of related manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly experience.
  • Experience preparing welds, including sanding and filing operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers.
  • Working knowledge of welding, machining, mechanical assembly, sheet metal fabrication, composite fabrication, soldering, and production manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform machine setup, machining, welding setup, and welding operations.
  • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal, extrusions, and tube assemblies.
  • Complete composite lay-up, fabrication, and assembly processes.
  • Assemble precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components using engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Assemble, repair, modify, and install power plants and drive train components.
  • Perform soldering on electronic and avionics assemblies.
  • Assemble and install wire harnesses and avionics equipment.
  • Prepare test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices for functional and production testing.
  • Perform basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation processes.
  • Apply organic coatings to meet corrosion protection and cosmetic finish requirements.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to manufacture and assemble components accurately.
  • Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers and other inspection tools, to verify dimensional accuracy.
  • Perform manufacturing and assembly work on components of limited complexity while following established specifications, drawings, and quality requirements.
