About The Position

As a global leader in radiation safety, detection and measurement, Mirion Technologies is advancing radiation safety through innovative technologies and solutions. This role involves assembling, repairing, calibrating, and testing nuclear instrumentation. The technician will assemble instruments using hand tools according to engineering diagrams and may operate small production machines. A key aspect of the role is ensuring a safe and healthy workplace by complying with all applicable safety and health rules.

Requirements

  • Final assembly (I.e.: hardware, wiring, and soldering).
  • Prelim and final test of completed products.
  • Q.A. function (make ready for shipment).
  • Comply with Quality Procedures.
  • Maintain schedule accuracy's.
  • Visually inspect manufactured items for cosmetics, workmanship, soldering, conformance to drawings, and quality standards.
  • Verify proper revision levels and markings per prints.
  • Investigate, research, and identify components in error.
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Good soldering skills.
  • Knowledge of all assembly related hand tools.
  • Ability to identify components.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Mechanical assembly skills.
  • At least one year post-high school education in electronics, electrical engineering, or similar discipline, OR 3 years electronics related experience.
  • Soldering skills.
  • Use of all test equipment (meter, scope, etc).
  • Ability to read schematic and blueprints.
  • Understand basic electronic theory.
  • Read and identify electronic components.
  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Good eye vision for close up work.
  • Ability to read and follow QA procedures.
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. with assistance.

  • Operate small production machines during assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, repair, calibrate, and test nuclear instrumentation, such as preamplifiers, amplifiers, and timing modules, analog to digital converters, digital signal processors, power supplies, counters, generators, and single & multi-channel analyzers.
  • Assemble instruments in accordance with engineering assembly diagrams using hand tools.
  • Operate small production machines during assembly.
  • Play an active role in creating a safe and healthy workplace and comply with all applicable safety and health rules.
  • Perform final assembly (hardware, wiring, and soldering).
  • Conduct preliminary and final testing of completed products.
  • Perform Quality Assurance functions to prepare products for shipment.
  • Comply with Quality Procedures.
  • Maintain schedule accuracy.
  • Visually inspect manufactured items for cosmetics, workmanship, soldering, conformance to drawings, and quality standards.
  • Verify proper revision levels and markings per prints.
  • Investigate, research, and identify components in error.
