About The Position

Enstrom Helicopter Corporation is looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering Technician, Machining who understands CNC machining, knows what makes a process work on the shop floor, and enjoys turning manufacturing challenges into practical solutions. This isn't a technical role spent entirely behind a desk. You'll work alongside machinists, operators, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to improve how parts are machined, how equipment is utilized, and how our manufacturing processes perform. If you enjoy CNC machining, tooling, fixtures, process improvement, and seeing your work make a direct impact on production, this could be a great opportunity to bring your technical skills and experience into the aerospace industry.

Requirements

  • An associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Machining Technology, or a related technical field; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Approximately 5–10 years of relevant experience in CNC machining, manufacturing engineering support, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of CNC machining equipment, processes, and manufacturing methods.
  • Experience with CAM software and advanced CNC programming.
  • Strong knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, fixturing, machining parameters, and process optimization.
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while staying connected to day-to-day production needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Production.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working in a regulated or tight-tolerance manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting the installation, implementation, or launch of CNC equipment, machining cells, tooling, fixtures, or new manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, supporting, and optimizing CNC machining processes, setups, tooling, cutting parameters, cycle times, and process capability.
  • Working directly with machinists and production teams to troubleshoot machining challenges and improve processes.
  • Providing technical support and expertise in CNC machining, cutting tools, workholding, fixtures, and manufacturing methods.
  • Designing, improving, and implementing tooling, fixtures, gauges, and other production aids.
  • Identifying practical ways to reduce scrap, rework, setup time, cycle time, and machine downtime.
  • Supporting machining cell layouts, equipment placement, material flow, utilities, and manufacturing infrastructure.
  • Assisting with the introduction of new equipment and technology into production, from initial concept and equipment selection through installation, validation, and launch.
  • Supporting equipment acceptance testing, process validation, and production ramp-up.
  • Training operators and production personnel on new equipment, tooling, processes, and work methods.
  • Participating in root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts throughout manufacturing.
  • Helping maintain a safe, organized, efficient, and production-focused work environment.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation for tooling, fixtures, gauges, and other manufacturing aids.
