Northrop Grumman is seeking Manufacturing Technician Interns for a 10-week Fall Internship opportunity on 1st Shift. This position will be located at their Space sector facility on-site in San Diego, CA. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Manufacturing Technician Team for a 10-week internship and may be converted to a full-time employee in the future, dependent on performance, timing, and budget. Requirements

  • A student enrolled in a community college or technical trade school, or working toward a manufacturing certification or related coursework.
  • Available to work full time for at least 10 weeks.
  • Ability to work with hand tools, often requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Able to read, interpret and record measurements.
  • Available to work 1st Shift (5:00 AM - 2:30 PM).
  • US Citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including handling and managing fragile composite materials.
  • Prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products; uni-directional and weave pre-pregs.
  • May report status/progress and interface with other employees and departments.
  • Tooling preparation and release application.
  • Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware.
  • Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness.
  • Execute to written instructions.
