Manufacturing Technician - Inspector

About The Position

This position reports directly to the SFMS Production Supervisor. The role involves performing all duties associated with incoming inspection of development and production material, supporting the maintenance of manufacturing and engineering equipment, and conducting complex inspections and analytical processes. The technician will inspect and test production parts using mechanical and electrical measuring equipment, with experience in prototype development and understanding of geometrical tolerances.

Requirements

  • 1-3 year’s previous industry-related experience preferred.
  • Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to relationship-building, both internally and externally
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving skills and communications skills (both written and oral) with reliable attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
  • Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines
  • Must be self-directed and be able to work well under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines

  • Desire to learn and grow professionally

Responsibilities

  • Performs all duties associated with incoming inspection of development and production material.
  • Supports maintenance of all equipment used in manufacturing processes and engineering development utilized at this facility.
  • Performs a large variety of complex inspections and analytical processes while exercising sound judgment in the selection of tools, equipment, fixtures and measuring devices.
  • Inspects and tests production parts using mechanical and electrical measuring equipment.
  • Experience with prototype development using engineering sketches, notes and drawings.
  • Capable of understanding and applying geometrical tolerances in accordance with ASME Y14.5M-1994.
  • Demonstrated capability of measurement techniques.
