About The Position

This Manufacturing Technician III will support the reliability and performance of RPD battery manufacturing equipment through troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, controls, automation, and process issues on equipment such as Resistance Spot Welders (RSW), Laser Spot Welders (LSW), automated assembly systems, Omron and Fanuc robots integrated with Allen-Bradley PLCs, and Keyence and Cognex vision systems. The role also supports qualification and troubleshooting of manufacturing tooling, fixtures, nests, and component holding devices used throughout production. By responding to downtime events, executing preventive and corrective maintenance, and partnering with Engineering and Operations teams, the technician helps reduce downtime and scrap, improve equipment uptime, and drive sustainable reliability improvements across the manufacturing operation. Requirements

  • Requires 3+ years of relevant technical experience, which may include a combination of practical experience and applicable training, education, or certification.
  • Requires full job knowledge of production-related systems and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with automated equipment, including troubleshooting both hardware and software issues
  • Familiarity with Omron robots and Omron troubleshooting
  • Experience with vision systems and related system interfaces
  • Exposure to system use tools such as COG and vision system applications
  • Experience using a maintenance management system, including documentation and recordkeeping
  • PLC training or foundational knowledge of PLC systems
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing or technical environment

Responsibilities

  • Performs installation, maintenance, and repairs on line manufacturing or plant equipment.
  • Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs.
  • Uses a variety of hand, power, and test tools and equipment.
  • May redesign optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for incorporation on existing manufacturing equipment.
  • May estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as required.
  • Assisting engineers with developing technical solutions related to the operation and performance of devices and systems.
