About The Position

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II to work hands-on in a cleanroom building and testing display and wafer fabrication equipment. The role involves building, repairing, and testing electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic assemblies, subassemblies, and components. The technician performs assembly, troubleshooting, repairs, parts audits, and inspections, and uses testing equipment to verify assemblies. The position also includes documenting work and, when needed, performing computer programming, repairs, or software installations. Work is performed under moderate supervision.

Requirements

High school diploma.
1–2 years of semiconductor or display experience, or comparable industry or military experience.
Ability to follow written and verbal standard operating procedures.
Knowledge of basic hand tools.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree, technical education, certifications, or training.
Willingness to expand skills in an analytical/scientific method or operational process.
Solid analytical skills and ability to solve problems using established operating procedures or scientific methods.
ASSEET or BSEET (DeVry, TSTC).

Responsibilities

Use work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, parts lists, and instructions to build, repair, and test electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic equipment, assemblies, subassemblies, and components.
Perform electro-mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting, and repairs under moderate supervision.
Receive parts and audit availability; inspect parts for defects, troubleshoot issues, and improve processes.
Use test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors, and vacuum pumps to test assemblies, subassemblies, and components.
Complete required job documentation, including data entry on progress, work expense, and labor details.
Perform computer programming, repairs, or software installations when needed.
