Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) Technician
About The Position
TSC is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II in Huntsville, AL. This role involves conducting vibration and thermal environmental tests on hardware and electronics assemblies according to program requirements and test procedures. The technician will be responsible for handling and processing electronic assemblies using ESD control practices, setting up, operating, and maintaining specialized test equipment, and accurately recording and reviewing test data. The position also requires supporting production and quality assurance, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and interpreting complex technical documentation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2–4 years of relevant technical experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical systems and components.
- Understanding of torque requirements, tool usage, and calibration/verification practices.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles and tools.
- U.S. Citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct vibration and thermal environmental tests on hardware and electronics assemblies in accordance with program requirements and/or written test procedures.
- Properly handle and process electronic assemblies using established ESD control practices and procedures to prevent foreign object debris/damage (FOD).
- Set up, operate, and maintain specialized vibration and thermal test equipment, following detailed work instructions and calibration standards.
- Accurately record, monitor, and review test data and logs to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Support production and quality assurance processes by ensuring all testing procedures are executed correctly and results are thoroughly documented.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams to improve processes, resolve issues, and maintain high quality standards.
- Interpret and work from complex wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications, and process documentation.
