About The Position

Woodstream is seeking a Manufacturing Technician I for their Lititz Manufacturing site. This role is part of the production team and is crucial for troubleshooting machines, setting up tooling and equipment, and optimizing equipment uptime. The technician will be responsible for quality, throughput, and safety, actively participating in problem-solving to enhance manufacturing productivity. This position operates on the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

Requirements

  • HSD / GED required or proven on the job related technical experience.
  • 3-5 years of combined work experience in maintenance or a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Repairing conveyors, motors, pneumatics, horizontal flow rappers, baggers, case erectors, wire mesh welders, tapers, welders, presses, fillers, gearboxes, pump systems, pneumatics, hydraulic systems, and various pieces of custom production equipment.
  • Understanding of basic math skills.
  • Ability to use basic measurement tools.
  • Hands-on experience with basic machining tools.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Set-up/troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance experience in a machine-based manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective problem-solving skills directed at increasing throughput, quality, and safety.
  • Ability to continually learn and develop new skills and knowledge.
  • Methodical and effective troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Initiative to pursue both personal and team goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English.
  • Ability to pass the T1 qualification test in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in hydraulic, electrical, or pneumatics.

Responsibilities

  • Assure equipment availability and readiness to meet production schedule requirements and throughput rates.
  • Maintain uptime on all production equipment consistently and reliably.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical machine problems quickly and perform effective troubleshooting.
  • Act as the machine expert, with the ability to run, operate, and pass operator certification for the assigned work center.
  • Consistently follow all lockout/tagout policies and procedures.
  • Operate forklift and high lift equipment (must be certified and demonstrate safe operation).
  • Complete set-ups in a timely and accurate manner according to production requirements.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers in improving equipment and process performance and implementing ideas to reduce downtime and improve productivity.
  • Ensure spare parts are stocked and available for immediate use to minimize downtime.
  • Provide quality instruction, education, and support to other Manufacturing Technicians and production operators.
  • Demonstrate safety awareness and execute safety policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Assist in operations as needed to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
