About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Process Management, and Inspection teams to assemble new and existing electronic circuit products and fiberoptics within an ESD and FOD sensitive lab environment. This role involves performing manufacturing functions such as assembly, rework, and basic modifications, with primary duties including automated, semi-automated, and hand install assembly operations. The technician is responsible for supporting continuous process improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, and schedule. On-the-job training will be provided, but the individual must be comfortable working independently and capable of transitioning between various aspects of circuit card assembly and building diverse designs with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience
  • 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft suite and personal computing devices
  • Proficient in multiple electronics manufacturing processes, including soldering, hand tools, and ESD practices
  • Experience in working with hardware assembly, coating, potting, and bonding materials

Responsibilities

  • Splicing fiberoptics & electromechanical assembly
  • Completes circuit card assembly operations on various electronic products, while ensuring compliance with required performance specifications
  • Sets up functional area manufacturing apparatus, and completes assembly following methods, procedures, standards, and operations sequences
  • Ability to work from both oral and written instructions, engineering drawings, blueprints, supporting surface mount and thru-hole circuit cards and their applicable components
  • Documents assembly data and results, provides documentation of failed products
  • Works to achieve operational targets within the functional area
  • Able to work in both team and individual contributor roles, with minimal supervision
  • Resource to other employees for various operations within the circuit card assembly processes, having multiple area of manufacturing expertise
  • Individual must be able to work under a microscope for long periods of time
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects targeting waste affecting product quality, cost, and schedule or other items of value to the business.
  • Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times as detailed in company policy and procedure
  • Support OT (nights, weekends, extended hours) as needed to meet schedule requirements and business needs
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Management
  • Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance as required
