Requirements

  • Good knowledge of microwave measurements.
  • Familiarity with using Network and Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters, Oscilloscopes, RF Sources and other equipment used in the testing of microwave components and modules.
  • Strong ability to work as an individual contributor as well as part of a team.
  • Good hand-eye coordination for work under a microscope with small tools.
  • General knowledge of electronics construction.
  • Strong aptitude and interest in working with automated and manual test equipment.
  • Communication skills required to work with engineering, management and other technicians.
  • Thorough familiarity with Vector Network Analyzer microwave measurements (i.e. S-Parameters, Phase, Group Delay, VSWR, etc.).
  • Familiarity with testing and troubleshooting microwave components (i.e. Power Dividers/Combiners, Couplers, Attenuators, etc.).
  • Ability to perform Acceptance testing of microwave hardware.
  • Operates a variety of programmable test equipment (i.e. automatic network analyzer, scalar analyzer, oscilloscope, pulse generator, meters, power supplies, etc.).
  • Will require use of a microscope and small tools.
  • Works from written and verbal instructions, test specs, wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0-2 years of prior related experience.
  • Must understand MW theory/measurements.
  • Ability to work with small hand tools and microscope.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain a security clearance.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Must be a “U.S. person” within the meaning of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Export Administration Regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Secret Clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Supports manufacturing in the testing and troubleshooting of medium to highly complex microwave modules.
  • Performs microwave electronics testing and troubleshoot complex microwave modules and subsystems.
  • Performs set-up, calibration, testing, tuning and troubleshooting of complex RF/MW circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Record and maintain test data in accordance with company procedure.
  • Recognizes failures and set up problems and determines need for appropriate corrective action.
  • May assist more experienced technicians with more complex test procedures.
  • May interface with Engineering to help solve design problems.
