About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician B will assemble, align, and tests systems, components, and subassemblies following specified work instructions and procedures to ensure the finished product meets established operational and cosmetic requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Working knowledge of electronic, optical and mechanical assemblies
  • Demonstrate comprehension of engineering prints and schematics
  • Apply considerable math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent

Responsibilities

  • Follow and comply with documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
  • Assemble, align, and test, systems, components for optics assemblies and laser assemblies following specified work instructions and procedures to ensure finished product meets established operational and cosmetic requirements
  • Work with RTV, epoxy, and other bonds/adhesives
  • Complete fine/complex assemblies with small components and apply bond/adhesives potentially with use of a microscope
  • Make fine adjustments while simultaneously monitoring computer/screen output of unit results
  • Operate complex active alignment stations and tooling
  • Use, read, and interpret oscilloscopes and other measurement devices/tools
  • Working knowledge of electronic, optical and mechanical assemblies
  • Perform basic computer activities with programs provided
  • Identify, utilize, and perform preventive maintenance on tools and test equipment as required
  • Demonstrate comprehension of engineering prints and schematics
  • Report deviations from standard to appropriate resource for review, instruction and authorization and obtains quality inspection when appropriate
  • Support Lean manufacturing efforts through continuous process improvement
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
